Forge sent two teams out this past summer on international mission and training trips. Their Timothy Project request was for a team to Honduras and a team to Mexico. This Timothy Project: Forge Mexico 2016 final update comes from the team that spent time in Saltillo and Toluca, Mexico serving and ministering to people there. The team consisting of young adult students from across the U.S. and internationally, were putting into practice the biblical training and team building that is part of Forge’s discipleship process designed to launch young people back into their local communities.
Lisa, one of the Forge team leaders wrote about the team’s experience,
The jerseys and equipment added such a fun and special surprise blessing to our trip! Our highlight was being able to pass the jerseys out to a large group of youth in Toluca (60+) after an afternoon youth service! We used them to split up for teams for soccer, and at first, we didn’t tell them that they were theirs to keep because we wanted to keep it a surprise. After a solid hour or more of playing soccer, building relationships and having fun, we let them know as our time concluded that the jerseys were theirs to keep as a gift! They were so stoked and filled with gratitude! You could tell they were thrilled to have them and were very thankful.
We were really impressed by this group of young adults who genuinely cared about one another and were passionate about Jesus Christ and making a Kingdom impact on their communities. We are praising God that He had us hold onto them for just the right time and place with the young adults of this community.
