IGCSC Announces Presentation Acceptance

Inaugural Global Congress on Sport and Christianity (IGCSC)Today, CrossTraining received word that Executive Director, Brad Kenney’s proposed presentation,  Foundations of Pastoral Care: Recovering the Spirit of Chaplaincy in Sport, has been accepted. The Inaugural Global Congress on Sport and Christianity (IGCSC) is hosting an international conference at York St John University 24-28 August 2016. The exact time and date of the presentation is still to be named at a later time. The conference will feature keynote lectures, nearly 100 parallel sessions, and panel discussion, as well as 14 different themes for attendees to choose from.

CrossTraining’s Executive Director, Brad Kenney, shared his thoughts upon hearing acceptance of the presentation.

It is an honor to have the presentation proposal be accepted – I can say that from my experience at Baylor, last fall, it is humbling to be in a room with theologians and representatives of academia as well as practitioners. I learned a lot from last November’s experience and it really helped me to refine some of my thoughts and articulation of how pastoral care might influence and inform our practice as chaplains. I hope to do the same at the IGCSC, later this year.

If you would like to help sponsor or defray travel costs for the conference, tax-deductible donations are welcome and may be made with a credit card via PayPal or by sending a check to CrossTraining Ministries, PO Box 102081, Denver, CO 80250.
