CrossTraining is pleased to announce our first official church partner in Colorado Springs, CO! HarvestDowntown whose pastor is Kurt Trempert has continued to grow in its support Kurt’s work as chaplain with the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC.
In addition, to occasionally covering food costs for some of the meeting and fellowship outreach times for the team, HarvestDowntown has allowed Kurt to take time, as necessary, to provide a pastoral, chaplain presence. Sometimes this has been during the week and team training times, and other times for games and other critical moments in the life of the Switchbacks organization.
HarvestDowntown has been given a great gift in allowing their pastor, Kurt, to absorb his role and work with the Switchbacks as an extension of his pastoral work at Harvest and in the city of Colorado Springs. While we don’t measure Harvest’s partnership in a dollar amount, what they are giving in terms of Kurt’s time and even serving the team is what we hope to see out of future church’s and chaplains in soccer.
– Brad Kenney, Executive Director
