The Colorado Springs Regional Business Alliance announced, yesterday, the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC had won its New Business of the Year award. The Switchbacks began play in 2015 and were part of a major expansion year for the United Soccer League. USL-Pro grew by adding 10 teams in 2015. Contributing to the growth and expansion was the developing relationship with Major League Soccer. What began as an agreement in 2013 for the MLS Reserve League to play and compete against USL teams transitioned in 2015 to several MLS clubs either making affiliations or building their own USL-Pro franchise.
The Switchbacks finished tied for second in the Western Conference and advanced to the semifinals in the playoffs.
CrossTraining Executive Director, Brad Kenney commented on the award and its potential impact on the Switchbacks and CrossTraining,
2015 was a huge expansion year for USL and part of our vision with CrossTraining is to help discover and place quality chaplains and counselor teams alongside these organizations to support the athletes, coaches, staff, and executives with these new organizations. It’s great to see the Switchbacks and the Raigan family honored and continuing to grow their brand in Colorado Springs. We feel confident that Chaplain Trempert will be able to develop a strong ministry to grow alongside the Switchbacks organization as they continue to flourish as an organization.
Chaplain Kurt Trempert began working with the Switchbacks in August of 2015 and will continue to serve throughout the 2016 season. You can help support CrossTraining and Chaplain Trempert by making a financial donation. CrossTraining is a 501(c)3 entity and donations are tex-deductible. Your contributions help to provide for the expenses of CrossTraining and Chaplain Trempert’s ministry to the Switchbacks organization.
