CrossTraining today announced that Counselor Cody Baker will join the CrossTraining team. Counselor Baker will serve the Colorado Rapids and CrossTraining. Baker’s main duties will include providing counseling to the professional athletes, coaches, staff and families of the Rapids as well as to those players and families that are within the Rapids’ Academy system. He will work closely with Chaplains Brad Kenney and Hugo Venegas, as well as support Chaplain Ricardo Orellana currently resourcing chaplains and teams in the New York and New Jersey area.
Counselor Baker is a graduate of Denver Seminary and currently serves as a Mental Health Counselor at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Denver as well as in private practice. You can learn more about Baker by visiting his profile page.
CrossTraining Director Kenney, had the following to say about the announcement:
I am excited by the addition of Cody to the CrossTraining team – we will be able to provide more to the Rapids organization in terms of service with his skills and expertise. It will take some time to integrate him into the ministry, but with God’s help this will happen quickly and efficiently.
Remember that CrossTraining chaplains and counselors are not employed or subsidized by their respective teams or the league and each relies upon financial support from donors in order to off set the expense of serving their respective teams.
