CrossTraining Ministries announced, today, the addition of a fourth board member – Leander Van Der Walt by unanimous vote at the most recent meeting of CrossTraining’s Board of Directors. Van Der Walt is originally from South Africa, and brings an extensive background in business including heading up a couple of start-up companies. He currently is CEO and Managing Director for MS Biotec. MS Biotec, manufactures and distributes an animal feed additive containing a special microbial organism to help animals transition to grain diets in feedyards and dairies.
CrossTraining Executive Director, Rev. Brad Kenney, came to know Van Der Walt through Valor Christian High School where Van Der Walt’s son most recently played for the junior varsity team in Valor’s soccer program. Van Der Walt expressed interest in CrossTraining and Rev. Kenney’s work with Valor and the Colorado Rapids Major League Soccer team.
Rev. Kenney commented on Van Der Walt’s appointment,
It feels like this has been a long-time in coming. We lost a couple of board members back in June with CrossTraining’s transition and we’ve explored several different candidates in that period of time. So much of CrossTraining’s need is for people who grab onto the vision and want to help get it down the road. I believe Leander is the type of person who can get a hold of a vision and help it get somewhere and I am excited to have him aboard.
As per CrossTraining by-laws, Van Der Walt will serve a two-year term, which is renewable.
Rev. Kenney shared the additional needs for CrossTraining and its current board,
We are still in need of an additional board member to make up the ground that we lost and we are actively searching for the right person who can step in to a role and make a contribution. As we see God continue to open doors of opportunity, it is exciting to see the people that He is bringing along.
Leander joins CrossTraining’s current Board of Directors.
